MERRILL, N.Y. — Georgiana "Janie" Mary Alphonso, age 85, of Merrill and Burke, N.Y., and a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home since August 23rd 1994, passed away on Thursday afternoon, November 21st 2002 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, N.Y.

She was born on March 7th 1917 in Chateaugay, N.Y., she was the daughter of George and Eva (Jarvis) Peacock.

She attended Chateaugay High School.

She married Antonio "Anthony" A. Alphonso Jr. on May 16th 1939 at the St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay, New York. He predeceased her on December 26th 1969.

She was employed as Head Cook at Camp Chateaugay for over 20 years.

She was involved with RSVP for many years and enjoyed flower gardening, crafts and traveling.

She was a communicant of the St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain, N.Y. and the St. George's Church in Burke, N.Y. for many years.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers; Richard "Dick" and Donald Peacock, and one sister; Mary Rita Patnode.

Arrangements by the Chateaugay Funeral Home on 36 Church Street in Chateaugay, N.Y.

Burial will take place in the spring at the St. Bernard's Cemetery in Lyon Mountain, N.Y.
