He is the son of Winford McClung and Pearl Jones McClung. Red had many successes in his life. He started logging with a team of horses in the 1950's. He had a contracting business for 30 years, and he worked for Leckie Smokeless Coal Company.
Red loved to coon hunt and had the best of dogs. He loved his 3 dogs that he is leaving behind. To help pass the time, he enjoyed watching the deer and squirrels. He had a funny sense of humor and loved telling his girls stories of what he had done in his life. He enjoyed growing a big garden and giving most of it away. He enjoyed canning with his girls. Red would do without to give to others.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Glen Allen McClung; granddaughter Michelle Goins; grandson Jonathan Deitz; 2 sons in laws: Dallas Elmore and Clyde Blenden; two sisters: infant Ruth, and Virginia McCracken; and four brothers: Frank, Huse, Everette, and Leighton.
He is survived by Mary Hellen Blankenship of Crawley, WV; six daughters: Shelby Goins of Lewisburg, Debbie Elmore (Jessie Sams) of Ronceverte, WV, Creta Meadows (James), Cathy Blenden, Crystal Deitz (David) of Crawley, Melanie McClung of Princeton, WV; Stepson Kirby Blankenship (Georgeann ) of Crawley, WV; a sister: Marie McClung of Essex, MD; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren
