Martha R. Cisler, age 97, a resident of Laurel Grove Assisted Living Center, Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon, May 3, 2007, at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc.

The former Martha Andres was born Aug. 27, 1909, in the town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Vraney Andres. On June 18, 1930, she was married to Charles C. Cisler, and the couple farmed in the town of Manitowoc Rapids and lived in Branch after their retirement. Charles preceded Martha in death on Oct. 11, 1988. In the past, Martha worked for Normington Dry Cleaners of Manitowoc. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Milton Cisler, of Manitowoc; Calla (Richard) Spevacek, of Alta Loma, Calif.; Wayne (Joyce) Cisler, of Whitelaw; Karen (David) Hartman, of Manitowoc; Leah Simmons, of Manitowoc; Rita Cisler, of Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren: Susan Witt; Richard Cisler, Michael Cisler, David Cisler, Jeff Cisler; Debbie Spevacek; Ruth Hartman, Todd Hartman, Tony Hartman, David Hartman; Joe Cisler, Jim Cisler, Jayson Cisler; Becky Schweigert and John Simmons; 24 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Allen Cisler; one daughter-in-law: Janet Cisler; one grandson: John Cisler; two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at the Reinhold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville. Deacon Cal Naidl will officiate, with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 310, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Martha's family would like to offer a note of gratitude to the staff of Laurel Grove Assisted Living Center and Shady Lane Home, for the fine care she received for the past seven years.
