Obituary - Evelyn Weyher Dunn Walker died at age 94 on June 19, 2009. Born Clara Evelyn Weyher on December 4, 1914, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Thisbe Evelyn Arnold and William Henry Weyher, "Evie" had two beloved younger brothers, Robert Frederick Weyher Sr. and William Henry Weyher Jr., and two cousins, whom she considered sisters, Margaret Lambourne Smith and Virginia Lambourne Gibbons, all of whom predeceased her.

Raised an Episcopalian, Evelyn talked fondly of her roots despite the pain of losing her father at the age of eight. Always a learner, Evelyn attended Stanford University, and remained in Palo Alto to raise her own family. Evie was active in civic organizations including the Women's Medical Auxiliary and the Junior League of Palo Alto.

Her second husband, and the love of her life, Robert Douglas Dunn, was a local doctor, and after his death in 1981 Evie carried on dispensing medical advice to her family and friends, lovingly earning the title Dr. Malpractice.

Throughout her life Evie tried to make people's lives a little easier, whether it was with a warm smile or hug, a funny story, or a financial boost. When her first grandchild was born in 1961, Evie was nicknamed "Mimi." Her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were fortunate to know the love of this extraordinary woman.

Evie married Ken Walker, and together they shared their twilight years until Ken died in 1993. Thanks to Ken, Mimi had the most amazing care in the last 10 years of her life, and she was so appreciative of her loving caregivers, especially Sofie, and the caring staff of The Peninsula Regent in San Mateo.

In addition to her two children, three step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mimi is survived by her large extended family and group of friends whom she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Mimi's 40 year-old cousin who died weeks before her, to the "David Tinsley Memorial Fund" which is raising money to assist those athletes who need assistance with their academics at Menlo Atherton High School, and mailed to 960 Monte Rosa Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025.
