HARRIS, Edith Jane - Peacefully after a courageous and lengthy illness on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Marshall Gowland Manor, Edith Jane Harris passed away at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late John Wallace Redden (1944) and the late Robert Russell Harris (1995). Loving mother of Margaret (Alf) Neal of Bright's Grove, Jane (Chuck) Nisbet of Sarnia and Michael Harris of Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Kelly (Gerald) Bennison, Tracey (Rob) Caven, Leanne (Mike) LeMay and Justine and Jesse Harris. Great-grandmother of Shaelyn Bennison, Tyler Bennison and Tayla Kerwin. Dear sister Marjorie Lamont of Belleville, Gary Collins and Phil Collins both of Nova Scotia. Survived by several nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her parents Leonard and Lydia (Burgess) Collins, special nephew Glen Parnham and several brothers and sisters in Nova Scotia. A memorial open house will be held at the SMITH FAMILY CENTRE (in front of Smith Funeral Home) 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Edith was an avid bridge player and loved doing crossword puzzles. The family would sincerely like to thank Dwayne, Shelley, Wendy and the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor for the care and compassion they showed during her illness.
