Edmund Washington Davis was born Feb. 22, 1860 in Jefferson, Hillsdale County, MI and passed away at his home in Carmel Center, Sept. 9, 1928, being 68 years, 6 months and 17 days old. He was married to Rosezella Miller, June 25, 1881. To this union were born seven children, a son Harl L. dying in infancy, and a daughter, Bertha Marie, passing away seven years ago. Besides the wife, five daughters survive; Mrs. Sam Bowes, Mrs. Gertrude Allen, Mrs. Dick Bowes of Charlotte, Mrs. Don Ray of Lansing, Mrs. George Freed of Detroit, also ten grandchildren.
Mr. Davis had lived on the farm where he passed away thirty-seven years. He was always ambitious to make the home comfortable and had indeed a modern home. He was of a quiet nature, yet willing to do his bit in the neighborhood. Not only in the home will he be missed, but many friends and neighbors will miss the friendship cemented by years and at this time extend their heartfelt sympathy to the wife and daughters, who will so much miss the helpfulness of a kind husband and father. The funeral was held at the home Wed. afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. S. N. Oliver officiating. Burial in Millerburg Cemetery
