David Winston Price Obituary, Brookhaven, MS, Semi-Weekly Leader, 6 May 1931, p. 1, col. 4

D. W. Price, 73, Passes

Mr. D. W. Price, 73 years old, died at the home of a son, Mr. Murphy Price in Bogue Chitto, Rt. 5, Sunday after a long period of declining health. He was one of Lincoln County's esteemed citizens, a member of one of its pioneering families and connected with other well known families in this part of the state.. For the greater part of his life he was a farmer, but within late years conducted a store and filling station in Bogue Chitto. Mr. Price was a member of the Baptist Church and was active to its service until ill health made it impossible for him to attend.

The funeral took place at Pleasant Hill Church, Rev. Hosea B. Price officiating , assisted by Rev. B. T. Bishop of Ruth. The large church could not accommodate the many who attended. Beautiful flowers gave their message of love and sympathy. Internment was made in the Brister Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Price are his wife, Mrs. Martha Brister Price, his sons, Messrs. Odom, Clarence, and Murphy, and daughters, Mrs. Quincy Martin and Mrs. Lassie Martin. He also leaves a number of brothers and sisters, Messrs. B. T., H. E. and T. B. Price and Mrs. Mary Moak and Mrs. Jane Brent.

Sympathy is extended the bereaved.
