F. Stanley Crafts Jr., 64, of West Main Street and St. Petersburg, Fla., died unexpectedly Thursday in St. Petersburg. He was born March 30, 1916. at the former Crafts Inn in Wilmington, son of Floyd S. and May (Allan) Crafts. He attended Deerfield Academy. He began working at Crafts Inn at the age of 18 and was manager of the inn before it closed in the mid-1970s. During the summer months since 1976, he had managed, Wentworth-by-the-Sea in Portsmouth. N.H. Since 1961, Mr Crafts had worked winters at the Binoy and Soreno Hotels in St. Petersburg and returned on Oct. 1 this year to manage the Soreno Hotel. He served with the U S Army in Germany during Word War II. Mr. Crafts was a member of the American Morgan Horse Association, the Florida Hotel Association, St. Petersburg Hotel Association and New England Hotel Association. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Farr) Crafts of Wilmington and St. Petersburg, two daughters, Mrs. Penelope Jennings of Bedford, N.Y., and Mrs. Suzanne Henricks of Brattleboro; a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Beal of Clearwater, Fla., and a grandson. Funeral services were held this morning in St. Petersburg. Graveside services will be conducted in Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington, on Monday, Nov 3, at 10 a.m. The Rev. John P. R. Morgan, minister of Wilmington Congregational Church, and Pastor Harold Reed of Community Bible Chapel, Brattleboro, will officiate. Local arrangements are under the direction of Covey & Allen Funeral Home.
