Shirley K. Deraney, 78, Grand Forks, ND, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at her home in Grand Forks.
Shirley Katherine Telander was born on January 3, 1926, the daughter of Roy and Alyce (Hedalen) Telander in Dahlen, ND. She attended school in Dahlen and graduated from Whitman High School in Whitman, ND.
Shirley married Arthur Deraney on February 26, 1944 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Grand Forks all of their lives. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and worked in the St. Michael's School lunch program. Arthur preceded her in death on October 17, 1998.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Robert) Zimmerman, and Carole (David) Schaefer, both of Madison, WI, Patricia Deraney, Grand Forks, ND, Jodi (Scott) Omlid, New Hope, MN; her sons, Michael, New York, NY, David (Susan), Eagen, MN, Timothy (Carla), Eden Prairie, MN and Jaimie (Susan), Detroit Lakes, MN; sisters, Wanda Fayette, Nuevo, CA, Doris (Robert) Lingle, Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Vernon (Delores), Grand view, WA, Gailen (Clarice), Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Jeremy, Alisa and Royce Zimmerman, Robb and Reid Schaefer, Joseph and Elizabeth Deraney, Kellee, Andrea and Holli Omlid, Anna, Alexandra and Noah Deraney; great grandchildren, Zachary and Abbie Schaefer, Elliot Omlid and Matthew Schaefer.
