Orville Ardell "Andy" Anderson, 78, of Cahokia, Ill., born Aug. 23, 1920, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at his home in Cahokia, Ill.
Mr. Anderson was retired from the Eagle Stamp Co. after 25 years of service. He was also a World War II veteran of the U. S.
Navy. Mr. Anderson was also a charter member of the Cahokia Moose Lodge 423; the Legion of Moose; Post 1699; the American Legion Post 784; the Flying Legionnaires; and the Centreville Men's Club.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Chub," nee Snow, Anderson; father, Ira Anderson; mother, Ethel Anderson-Robinson; a brother, Emil "Buck" Anderson; and a sister, Frieda Brown.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry (Marlene) Anderson Sr. of Cahokia, Ill., Scott (Linda) Anderson of Vienna, W.V., and Gary (Sherry) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.;
a daughter, Pamela (Steve) Hammond of Cahokia, Ill.; six sisters, Louise Mooney, JoAnn Knight and Doris Onstott, all of Belleville, Ill., Melba Pathenos of Cahokia, Ill., Betty (Robert) Antoff of Cahokia, Ill., and Patsy Rodgers of Cahokia, Ill.; four brothers,
Howard (Virginia) Anderson of Ava, Ill., Arthur (Martha) Anderson of Maryville, Ill., Jack (JoAnn) Robinson of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Bobby (Betty) Robinson of Cahokia, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, Andrea, Jerry Jr.,
Rhonda, Angela, Brett, Allison, Erin, Stefanie, Kyle, Raffy, Affton and Ashley; and five great-grandchildren, David, Katie, Adam, Karley and Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Illinois Hospice.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 12, 1998, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill. A Moose service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and a VFW Post 1699 service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 aim. Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
