He was the devoted husband of Joan (Goldrick) Gutowski; survived by his two daughters; two sisters; two brothers. He was predeceased by his son Army Spc. Steven E. Gutowski, Ed's hero, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011; and a sister.
Born in Boston, October 10, 1957, son of the late Henry and Chessie (Bochonowicz) Gutowski, Ed was a graduate of Roslindale High School, class of 1976. He was President of his senior class, and attended Northeastern University. He spent over 40 years working for Stop and Shop companies as a grocery clerk and Frozen Food Manager at various stores on the South Shore and Cape Cod. He loved spending time with his family, watching his favorite Boston sports teams, and was best known for his work behind the grill, as the official "Grill Master".
Burial in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
