Pebble Beach

Margaret Sue Thompson (Marge), a resident of Pebble Beach, passed away on November 20th. She was 93.

She and her identical twin, two other sisters, and two brothers were born on a ranch near Deming, New Mexico. Marge was an excellent student and an accomplished horsewoman. She also liked to sew and cook with her sisters and play baseball with her brothers.

Marge married an Army Air Corps pilot, Alden Joseph Thompson, whom she adored. They had an exciting life of living in many different places. They had three children: Linda, Lance and Kathy. She was a devoted wife and an exceptional mother. Even though she frequently worked outside the home, she often referred to herself as a homemaker. And, she was an excellent one.

Marge was an active member of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club. She was an avid bridge player. A devoted Christian, she was active in the Church of the Forest, and was also involved in Meals on Wheels. Marge and her twin loved square dancing, line dancing, and ballroom dancing.

Marge is survived by three children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret Sue Thompson loved life, God and her family. She was an inspiration and motivating force for her children and many adoring grandchildren. The world will not be the same without her.

Marge will be inurned at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California next to her husband. A memorial service will be held at that time.
