ROYAL A. DOTY JR. Royal A. Doty, Jr., 98 years old, passed away peacefully the morning of November 18, 2018 with his loving wife, Anetta at his side. They celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary last month. Royal was born in Oakland, California May 5th, 1920, parents,Royal A. Doty Sr. and Adaline (Dawson) Doty. He graduated from Oakland High and attended the University of California before he joined the Navy in 1941. After World War II, Royal and Anetta ventured to a little town in the country, Walnut Creek, CA, where they raised their three children. Royal worked as Director of Commerce for Biggie Dragage for 39 years. When he retired in 1985, he and Anetta moved to Chico, Ca. They have three children: Patty Hart and husband Mike of Chico, Lewis Doty and wife Barbara of Walnut Creek, Jim Doty and wife Laurel of Valley Springs, CA. They also have 6 grandchildren, Michael (wife Kara) Hart, Eric (wife Alison) Hart of Chico, Heidi Hart Haislmaier (husband Nate) of Boise, Idaho. Brett (wife Renee) Easton of Antioch and Lisa (husband Brent) of Mariposa, Tessa (husband Eric) of Visalia, CA. They also have 16 beautiful great grandchildren. Royal was an avid reader, had a passion for traveling the world with Anetta, enjoyed cars and rooting for his favorite sports team. He especially treasured spending time with his family. He was a member of Neighborhood Church and later, Bidwell Presbyterian. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity.
