The death of Michael F. Bolan of
Pleasant street, Shortsville, occurred
at the Memorial hospital in Canandaigua
on Sunday evening, following
an operation performed several
weeks ago. He had been in poor
health for some time. His age was
57 years.
Michael F. Bolan was born in Benton
Center, this state, on August 29,
1871, a son of the late William and
Catherine Bolan. He had been a resident
of Shortsville since the year
1901, and for the past 26 years had
been a faithful employee of the Lehigh
Valley Railroad Company, in
its Manchester yards. He was twice
married, his first wife having died
in Shortsville many years ago. He
was united in marriage with Miss
Mary Farley of Jersey City, N. J., on
August 3, 1916. He was a member
of St. Dominic's Church, of the Holy
Name Society connected with this
church, Canandaigua Council of the
Knights of Columbus, the Switchman's
Union of North America, and
the Veterans' Association of the Lehigh
Valley Railroad Company.
Besides his wife, he leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Walter Brendt of
Rochester and Miss Jane Bolan of
Shortsville, one son, William Bolan
of Shortsville, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from
his late home this Thursday morning
at 9 o'clock and from St. Dominic's
church at 9:30 o'clock, conducted
by the Rev. Paul Gaffney of
Rochester. The remains will be interred
in Brookside cemetery.
