S.B. Barnes
S.B. Barnes, 66, died Thursday at the family residence after a brief illness.
Services: 11 p.m. Saturday at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Lakewood Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, the former Frances Couch of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Donald B. (Patsy) Allen of Clinton; two sons, Robert B. Barnes of Jackson and William S. Barnes of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, Robert Earl Barnes of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. W. G. Roberson of Jackson.
Mr. Barnes was a native of Marion County, a resident of Jackson for over 40 years, a retired deputy police chief of the Jackson Police Dept. detective division with more than 30 years of service. He was a graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Institute and a graduate of the FBI's National Police Academy.
Friends may visit the family after 10 a.m. today.
