The majority of Della's ancestors migrated to southern California from Baja California. Family history dates back to the late 1600s in Baja. Della vividly told stories of the early days of San Pedro, San Juan Capistrano, and of her family members who were longshoremen in the Long Beach Harbor.
Della and Jack operate a laundromat and dry cleaning business in Rawlins for many years before retirement. They spent their spare time and retirement years camping, hunting, and fishing. Rock hunting on the Sweetwater Agate Flats was their favorite pastime.
She is survived by niece Mitzi Canady, three step-children, Donald V. Bucher of Seattle, Amy Robinson of Thermopolis, Allen (Alissa) Bucher of Littleton, Colorado; 10 Grandchildren; and 13 Great Grandchildren.
She is proceed in death by her parents, 8 siblings, step-son Gary, grandson Curtis Martinez, and her husband, Jack Bucher.
A family memorial was held on October 21, 2016 on the Sweetwater.
