Loy Beth Venuti, 89, of Salinas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. Loy was born Sept. 12, 1926 in Dawson, NE, to Burl and Thelma Long.

Her family moved to Mountain Grove, MO where she grew up, and then to Salinas, where she met the love of her life, Mervin (Joe) Venuti. They married in 1948 and were together for 68 years. Loy met Joe while working at Montgomery Ward. After they were married she became a homemaker, where she enjoyed raising her three children, sewing, crafts, camping and fishing.

Loy was proceeded in death by her parents; sisters, Burlene Whittman, Dorothy Osler, and Jaxie Upton; brothers, Gerald Long, and Gordon Long; brother-in-law, Louis Venuti, and son, Joseph Anthony (Tony) Venuti.

Loy is survived by her husband, Joe; brother, Robert Long; daughters, Pam (Randy) Smith, and Karen (Ed) Sims; grandchildren, Alica (Eddie) Estrada, Ryan (Kim) Sims, Heather Graziano, Michelle Pendergrass, and Joey Pendergrass; great-grandchildren, Justin Sims, Devin Sims, Madison Estrada, Rylee Sims, and Mackynzee Weber, and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Loy's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.

Donations can be made to the nearest Military Cemetery or to your favorite charity.
