Era Wanna “Johnnie” Cravens Reynolds Hughes, 95, of Norman, peacefully completed her earthly pilgrimage at home and entered the presence of God for eternity on Friday November 30, 2018.
Era was born on March 23, 1923 to Arthur R. and Vena Lee (Mayfield) Cravens. Era or as her friends and family called her Johnnie or Wanna, went to school at Konawa, OK and graduated in 1940. She attended Oklahoma University and took business classes.
She was married to J.H. Reynolds and they had one son, Paul Stephen Reynolds. She later married Arvel J. Hughes. They were married 49 years until his death in 1997. She spent her career helping her husband in his business. She was a charter member of Alameda Baptist Church in Norman, OK. Johnnie loved to cheer on her OU Sooners during football and basketball games and even had a car horn that went to the tune of “Boomer Sooner.”
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Vena Cravesn; her son Paul Stephen Reynolds on May 18th, 2007; three brothers Bill, J.W. and Warren Cravens; two sisters Jane Inman and Otheliah Delsid. She is survived by her grandson Mark S. Reynolds and his wife Cori; her granddaughter Stephanie Lyn Reynolds; four great-grandchildren Stephen, Sean, Kevin and Kelli Reynolds; daughter-in-law Donna Reynolds; as well as many family and friends. She said: “To all of these I leave my love.” She was prepared to go and be with her family and Jesus Christ.
