Louis L. Jordon, 44, former resident of Vinton, died Thursday night (Jan 7, 1954) in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Vinton Police Department for about four years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Stokes Jordan, a son Roger L. Jordan, Philadelphia; his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Jordan, Vinton; a brother and two sisters: J. T. Jordan, Roanoke, Mrs. Eunice King, Washington, D. C., and one grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at Vinton Baptist Church at 3:30 p. m. Monday by the Rev. J. E. Kraus and Dr. George D. Stevens. Interment will be in Mountain View (Cemetery). The body will arrive here at noon Monday and will be taken directly to the church.
