Joseph Raymond Friel former resident of Renovo died Saturday morning at the Tulsa General Hospital of pneumonia. Mr. Friel widely known as Pete was a member of the Renovo family famed for their prowess on the diamond. He started his baseball career in Grove City, then going to Wheeling WVA, the New England League, New York State League and the International League & was a pitcher at Syracuse. In 1922 he became the business manager of the Tulsa Oilers.
He is survived by his wife 2 sons & 2 daughters: William of Renovo, John R pf Clarendon, Jane of Renovo and Mrs. Edward Cudihy .
His brothers and sisters are William E Friel, Charles Friel, Mrs. Glenn Koehler Margaret Friel of Renovo, Mrs. Fred Keenan of NJ & Nell of NYC.
He is buried in Tulsa by the Harrold Funerak Hime.
