Gladys Oyler Overstreet, 80, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday September 12, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband John W. Overstreet, Jr.; son, Peter Andrew Overstreet; parents, Robert and Goldie Oyler; brother, Jimmy Oyler. She was a loving mother and grandmother who had a tremendous sense of humor. Her family always came first, no matter what. She retired from the Burger King Corp. where she served as the manager of the Vinton location for many years. Survivors include her children, Don Overstreet and wife Carol, Donna Johnson, Jerry Overstreet, John Overstreet and wife Nancy, Darlene Whitt; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Janie Baker and husband Norman; brother, John Oyler and wife Nancy; sister-in-law, Yvonne Oyler; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Monday at Mountain View Cemetery Vinton with Rev. Earl Clemons officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Oakeys Vinton Chapel.
