She graduated from Wake Forest High School. Her family attended Glen Royal Baptist Church and it was there that she met a young, Wake Forest College student, Joe Denson. They were married in May of 1955. Although they lived in many places because Joe was in the Army, they settled in Charlotte. They had a son, Joe, and a daughter, Debbie.
Edith was a kindergarten teacher at Wilmont Christian School and at Southview Child Development Center. She is a member of Southview Baptist Church where Joe was Pastor for over 38 years.
She and Joe were able to travel a lot in their time together. They went on many bus tours traveling from NC to Canada to California and throughout the United States. They went on several cruises with friends and family.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, and her son, Joe, Jr., her mother and father, Frank and Minnie Massey, her brothers, Andrew and Dick, and her sister, Annie Louise.
