Survivors include her beloved husband of 45 years Hoover, a son Gerald Davis and wife Pat of Gurnee, Illinois, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters Charlene (Tom) Wilson of Cedar Rapids, and Naomi (Fred) Brown of Marion, two brothers John (Hillary) Herman of Florida, and Marvin (Sharon) Herman of Cedar Rapids, brothers in law Ken (Pat) Hubbard of Cedar Rapids, and Lindy Hubbard of Las Vegas, Nevada, and many nieces and nephews, and an aunt Marie Kelley of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Lyle Herman.
Ardis was born December 15, 1923 in Audubon, Iowa, the daughter of Vesta and Merle Kelley. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. She was active in the Democratic Party, labor union local 43 with her husband, the women of the Moose, and the Eagle's Auxiliary.
Ardis was a big fan of stock car racing and had many friends in the racing community. Ardis will be missed by all.
