George Alfred Byberg, age 85, of NC Highway 343, Camden, NC went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 8, 2018 at Sentara Hospice House. Born on September 9, 1933 in Detroit, MI to the late William and Laurette Gendron Byberg, he was the widower of Patricia Maines Byberg. Mr. Byberg served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy and was an engineer with the Ford Motor Company. He loved to fly (served 7 years as a Navy pilot), loved the beach, warm water and sand, and loved his wife of 55 years. He was a meticulous builder, was good-natured and helpful to all and had a fascinating career that he loved.

He is survived by two daughters, Pat Julien (Mike) of Grand Rapids, MI and Bridgette Purrington (Mark) of Woburn, MA; two sons, George A. Byberg, Jr. (Gail) of Camden, NC, Mark Byberg (Mary) of Redford, MI, and John P. Byberg (Sharon) of Livonia, MI; grandchildren, Christian Byberg, Jenny Chambers (Andy), Andrew Purrington (Noel), Justina Purrington, Nathan, Brendon and Trevor Byberg, James Byberg, Nicki Byberg, and Mike and Zachary Julien; and three great grandchildren, Robert Purrington, Christopher Purrington, and Ashlynn Chambers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Byberg.
