J.C. Wood, age 80, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2018 at his home. Mr. Wood was born in Lumpkin County, GA on May 15, 1938 to the late Miles Wood and Woodie Sisk Wood. He worked for Levi Strauss in Management. Mr. Wood was a United States Navy veteran serving in the United States expeditionary forces in the Taiwan Straights, served in the South Pacific off the Vietnam Coast, and served on the U.S.S. Orleck. Mr. Wood was a member of V.F.W. #6570, American Legion #248, D.A.V. Chapter #28, and the North Georgia Honor Guard. He was instrumental in the founding of the Veteran's Memorial Park in Blue Ridge and also served as President of the Veteran's Memorial Park. Mr. Wood was of the Church of God faith.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel of Blue Ridge, GA. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park with Full Military Honors provided by North Georgia Honor Guard.
