RENSSELAER Therese E. Bonacker, age 93 years, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in North Greenbush. A lifelong resident of Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Magdalen K. (Schiebly) Bonacker. She was a graduate of St. John's Academy in Rensselaer, Saint Peter's School of Nursing in Albany, and Catholic University in Washington, D.C. During her years as a nurse, she worked for St. Peter's Hospital, Albany Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, heading up the operating department for many years before retiring in 1983. Therese enjoyed skiing, golf, gardening (especially roses), traveling with friends, cardinals, and wine. She is survived by her sister Anne (late Paul) Reilly, and their children, Susan, Mary, Michael (Nadine), Carol (Ron) Hayden, William (Marleen), Jeanne (John) Waterbury, Timothy (Linda), and Colleen (Kevin Mahar). Therese was predeceased by her baby sister Ruth and sister Mary Katherine (Edmond) Duncan; and survived by their children, Patti (Mark) Ahern, Kathy (Bill) DeWeese, Edmond (Elizabeth), Terry and the late Joseph Duncan. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.
