Clayton – Earl Ray Adams, age 78, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born May 15, 1940 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Joseph Carlton and Mary Violet Stephenson Adams. Earl was a member of Wilson’s Mill Baptist Church in Wilson’s Mills.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Lawson officiating. Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at Knollwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Virginia Adams; daughters, Jenny Annette Adams of Smithfield and Laura Ann Bailey and husband Kyle of Dawsonville, GA; brother, Joseph Harold Adams and wife Joyce of Selma; sisters, Bonnie Godwin of Selma and Mary Sue Jones of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Derrick Ray Wilson, Chasity Johnson, Denton Bailey, and Layne Bailey; and great grandchildren, Isaac Glen Donaldson and Lilly Johnson.
