STUART R. WEVER - SALEM - Stuart R. Wever, 72, died February 10 at his home on Thomas Street, Salem. Mr. Wever was born december 17, 1910 in Cossayuna, son of James and Anna Graham Wever. Hewas employed by the Town of Salem Highway Department since 1948. He became superintendent of the department in 1955 and served in that capacity until his 1978 retirement. He was a dairy farmer before joining the highway department. Mr. Wever was a former member of the East Greenwich United Presbyterian Church. Survivors are his wife, Margaret Clark Wever; three daughters, Shirley Wever of Albany, Mrs. John Plude of Hudson Falls and Mrs. Stewart Skiff of Greenwich; two sons, Senior Master Sgt. Stuart Wever of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida and Joseph Wever of Sale; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Wells of Syracuse; Mrs. Jenny Coulter of Cambridge and Mrs. Violet Rogers of Latham; a brother, Harry J. Wever of Mechanicville; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Private services were conducted at the convenience of the family. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sale. The Family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Salem Fire Dept. or the Salem Rescue Squad. Arrangements were under the direction of the McClellan Funeral Home. WASHINGTON COUNTY POST
