Joan Cerchio, 73, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at her Sons's residence in Parlin. NJ. Joan was born in Methuen. MA, had resided in Old Bridge, NJ, before moving to Jackson Twp. 20 years ago. Mrs. Cerchio was employed as a teacher's aide at the Monmouth Ocean Education Services Commission in Lakewood Twp. for 15 years before her retirement 12 years ago. She was a member of the Winding Ways Bocce Club and Singles Club, and the Italian American Club. Joan was a Communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson.
She was predeceased by her Parents, John and Rose Martineau; her Husbands, John 1-lolzafel in 1975 and Jerry Cerchio in 2002; and her Son, Salvatore Cerchio in 1984. She is survived by her Sons, Jim Holzapfel of Parlin, NJ, John Holzapfel of Parlin, NJ and Jerry Cerchio of New Egypt, NJ; her Daughter, Maria Ortuso of Howell Twp.. NJ; her Brothers, Joseph Martineau, John Martineau, Leo Martineau and Arthur Martineau all of Massachusettes; her Sisters, Veronica Gondevin of California, Lorretta White of Florida and Elaine Clement of Massachusettes; and, by her 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
