Carlos "C.L." McCleskey of Grassland peacefully departed this life Monday, May 22, 2007, at the age of 66, in Lubbock. He was born Feb.17, 1941, in Brownfield, to Curtis Osborne "Hoolie" McCleskey and Jewel Laverne Allen. C.L. attended school in Wilson and was a life long resident of Grassland. He was a farmer, Deputy Sheriff, and a truck driver. Mr. McCleskey was a member of the Grassland Church of the Nazarene.
Those left to mourn his passing include his mother, LaVarene McCleskey; three sons, Kurt Gerard McCleskey and wife Coye of Grassland, Kevin Ray McCleskey and wife Glenda of Lamesa, and Kent Lee McCleskey and wife Belinda of Kempner; one daughter, Carla Denise Sires of Lubbock; one brother, Delbert Wayne McCleskey and wife Brenda of Grassland; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCleskey was preceded in death by his father, Curtis "Hoolie" McCleskey, on Dec. 29, 1996.
Family will greet friends at White Funeral Home in Tahoka, Monday, May 28, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Grassland Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Dave Meneffee officiating. Interment will follow in the Grassland Cemetery.
Family suggests memorials be made to the Grassland Cemetery Association at 1931 Norman Road, Post, Texas 79356.
