Loren Gustave Fenner, son of August and Rosina (Grosz) Fenner, was born on September 2nd, 1924 in Drake, North Dakota. He grew up on the Fenner family farm north of Drake and attended a nearby country school.

Loren was drafted into the Army in October 1943 and fought in WWII in the 28th Division 109th Field Artillery. After the war he worked at various construction companies and came to own Ace Construction. He also farmed his family homestead land in Drake.

In 1952, Loren wed Joan Toy in Drake. From this union, they had children Linda and Loren. They later divorced.

On June 12th, 1964 Loren married Elvera Knuth at Christ Lutheran Church in Minot, where they raised their daughter Lisa. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1989 with a dance with their friends and family at the Moose Lodge. Loren and Elvera were married until she passed away on May 25th, 1993.

Loren enjoyed playing card games and marbles while listening to Polka music. He spent many days hunting and fishing with friends and family. He also spent many days at the farm and continued to drive down as often as he could. He loved visiting with his family, and anyone who was willing to listen as he always had a lesson to teach. He especially treasured moments spent with his grandchildren. Loren was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot.
