Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of James Kyle Elliott (1898 - 1937) and Frances Williams Elliott (1904–2006).
She grew up in West End and was a cheerleader at West End High School. She attended Birmingham Southern College and Auburn University.
Most of her work career was with the Internal Revenue Service, from which she retired with 30+ years of government service.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her kindness, love, and sweet nature touched many, and she will be greatly missed. Her greatest joys included watching her granddaughter play softball, Robert Shepherd’s Sunday School Class at Lakeside Baptist Church, listening to southern gospel music, rooting for the Auburn Tigers, and playing with her three dogs, Puddin’, Ginger, and Kiwi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Williams Elliott and James Kyle Elliott, and two brothers, David Graham Elliott (1929-1977) and Gerald Franklin "Jerry" Elliott (1933-2016).
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, one son, one granddaughter and a brother, along with numerous other family members and lifelong friends.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Anne Marie touched are invited to visitation on Tuesday, October 30th at 1 PM at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home, in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the service at 2 PM.
