Mrs. Emma Irene Williams Oaks, 63, of 104 Kingsley Ave., Kingsport, died in a Jonesboro hospital Monday at 2:55 p.m. following a long illness.
She was a native of Carter County and had lived in Kingsport for a number of years. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary O. Tyree, Kingsport; three sons, Richard of Kingsport; Harold and Conley, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Eddie Johnson, Mrs. Addie Franklin, and Mrs. David Potter of Hampton; three brothers, Paul E. Williams of Cocoa, Fla; H. C. Williams of Boone, N.C., and Condon Williams, Hampton; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hampton Baptist Church by Rev. Cecil Haynes and Rev. Glen Smith. Burial will be in Halls Cemetery in Hampton.
The body will remain in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home in Elizabethton. The family will receive friends there Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. The body will be removed to the church Wednesday at noon to await the service hour.
