Harry J. McPartland, 89
Harry J. McPartland, 89, of Lancaster, passed away, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry and Nellie (Waters) McPartland. Harry was the husband of Rosemary McPartland with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage this past September 6th.

Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 84th division "Rail Splitters'. He worked on the Railroad for 40 years in the "Paoli Car Shop" He was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central Railroad, and Con Rail. Harry was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 children; Hank McPartland husband of Sandy of King of Prussia, and Jill McPartland of Millersville.

He was preceded in death by a son Stephen McPartland. 3 sisters and a brother. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 501 E. Orange St. Lancaster, Pa 17602 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received before the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
