Earl A. Hudson, 90, of Marcellus and formerly of Camillus died at home Wednesday, August 26, 2015 with family by his side. Earl was a farmer all his life. He began working with his father and family at the A. W. Hudson and Sons Farm, and then in the 1970's established a partnership with his brothers as Manorcrest Farms. In 1984, Earl, along with his sons, Peter and Lee, formed Hudson Egg Farms, where he worked until 2012.
Earl was a member of the Skaneateles United Methodist Church, serving on several committees. He was Director of the Central Co-operative Insurance Company for 45 years, in which 30 of those years he was president. Earl was on the Town of Camillus Planning Board for 13 years, including 6 years as chairman.
Surviving Earl are his wife of 64 years, the former Evelyn Harrison; seven children, Paul (Frances), Phillip (Tina), Peter (Shirley), Ellen Hudson, all of Camillus, Lucy (Walter) Copeland of Skaneateles, Lee (Patsy) of Camillus and Linda (Richard) Breeden of Connecticut; 19 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Olin (Sue) Hudson of Camillus.
A memorial funeral service will be Sunday, August 30 at 2 p.m. in the Skaneateles United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends after the service. The burial will be private.
