She was a graduate of Tyler County High School.
Velma was a member of the Lacroft Nazarene Church.
She was a homemaker and cherished her family. She would take in children that didn’t have anyone and she would love them and give them a place to call home.
Velma will be sadly missed by her children, two sons; two daughters; sister; she will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, William Reed; son, Charles Reed, grandchildren, Allyson Reed, Jeffrey King, Casey King, and Bryan Gressly; brothers, Frank Fetty and David Fetty; sister, Nancy Moore.
Pastor Carolyn Hardy will celebrate Velma’s life Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 1:00PM-3: 00 PM and 6:00PM-8: 00 PM.
