Gary Lee Fraughton, age 72, returned to his Heavenly Father December 20, 2018 in Scottsdale, AZ while visiting family.
Gary was born May 23, 1946 in Ogden, UT to Ancil Dennis and Erma Isabell Fraughton. He lived in Layton his entire life and graduated from Davis High School in 1965.
Gary worked at Hill Air Force Base over 20 years before retiring in 2008. Gary spent his retirement years traveling and enjoyed working with his brother-in-law Ed Garland, doing remodel projects.
Gary loved camping, fishing, hiking, playing with his grandkids, playing cards with friends, going to Laughlin and helping his friends and family.
Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions.
Gary married his wife Jackie Garland in the middle of Lake Powell on August 12, 1989.
He is survived by his wife, five children; Shane (JaNae) Fraughton, Michelle (Clint) Cacciacarne, Charlie (Sadie) Haynie, Ricky (Jenelle) Haynie, and AshLee Fraughton, 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gary is also survived by his brothers Glen (Yvonne) Fraughton, Allen (Carol) Fraughton and one sister Vickie (Paul) Tingey.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Road, Layton, UT. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
