Daughter of Harmon and Katherine (Crum) Summers Warrum

Her obituary from the Greenfield Daily Reporter, published December 10, 1921, page 2:

Rosanna Catherine Elsbury, daughter of Harmon and Katie Summers Warrum, was born in Blue River township Hancock county, April 4, 1830 and departed this life, November 14, 1921, aged 91 years, 7 months and 10 days.

When Rosanna was two years of age her mother was taken away by death and the child was cared for by her half brothers and sisters until she was ten years of age. At this time she with her father, moved to the farm two miles north of Greenfield, now known as the Elsbury farm. With the exception of three years immediately after her marriage, this was her home for the remainder of her life. During her last years, however, she was cared for by her daughter Mrs. Sarah Frost.

On January 18, 1849 she was united in marriage to Jackson Elsbury. To this union were born three children Sarah M., Marion A., and Mary Alice; all of whom have preceded her in death except Mrs. Frost who now lives in Greenfield.

On January 25, 1891 Mr. Elsbury died, and in March of 1892 she was again united in marriage to David Elsbury, who died in February, 1902.

While Mrs. Elsbury was always active in church and community interests, she did not formally unite with the church until 1919, when she was baptized and received into the Bradley Methodist Episcopal church of this city by the pastor, Rev. H. S. Nickerson.

This step proved to be a great help and comfort to her during her last days and while her mind at times was clouded by age and affliction, her faith remained firm, and she would frequently say "it is alright for I now belong to Jesus."

She was the last member of the Harmon Warrum family and leaves one daughter Sarah M. Frost, two grandsons Luther and Earl Frost, and nine great grand children. Two grand children Albert and Eva have gone on before her and great granddaughter, Marvel Frost, has preceded her by only a few days.

So it is that one by one we complete life's journey. To some the end comes sooner, to others the way is longer. Yet none of us are compelled to walk alone. There is a possibility of our having divine guidance every step of the way.
