Grover Don Sears, 61, of Shawnee Mission Kansas, died Thursday at the University of Kansas Medical Center after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was born near Columbus, Kansas and had lived in Crestline, Kansas most of his life before moving to the Shawnee Mission area in 1970. Mr. Sears had been a maintenance man for the Gulf Oil Chemicals Company for 19 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nadine Wells Sears of the home, two sons, Earl Dale Sears and Fred Sears of Shawnee, a brother Dan Sears, Hoxie, Arkansas, a sister, Mrs. Prue Rupe, Los Angles and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at the Columbus Cemetery. Funeral services at Newcomer, Overland Park Chapel and after noon at the Derfelt Chapel, Galena, Kansas. - Graveside Services at Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas Monday, August 14, 1978.
