Daughter of Isaac Bull and Amy Chase. Married about 1793 Hoosick, Rensselaer Co., NY to Lovit E. Bishop. They had at least 6* children.: Nathaniel, Isaac Newton, Mordica, Mrs. Bethania Lawrence, Daniel R. and Mrs. Amy B. Holbrook.

*Based on the 1820 census, they had at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. 5 sons are in the household, the oldest son Nathaniel married in 1818 and living in the county south in Washington Co., OH.

Believed one of the missing sons did survive childhood (Joseph Bishop???) and married Lavina McGarth abt.1839 and died soon after it. A Lavina Bishop married William T. Kirk June 16, 1839 in Morgan Co., OH. Further records show that Lavina's maiden name was McGarth. She moved to Brown Co., IN. Her father Thomas McGarth buried in Meigs Cemetery, Morgan Co., OH.

Although there is no clear record, proving Rebecca's parentage, a Lawrence family descendant had personal records, and posted that "Bethanie Bishop, daughter of Lovett and Rebecca Bell Bishop" in the The History of Morgan County, Ohio, 1980 p.125. See attachment. Bell was a well know name in Morgan County, Ohio but not in Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer County, New York, where Lovitt moved from to Ohio and where Lovitt's oldest 3 children were born. Both Lovitt's father Nathaniel Bishop and Rebecca Bull's parents: Isaac and Amy Bull are buried in Hoosick Falls.
Going by the children's names: using the name game " the first born son was named after his paternal grandfather and the second born was named after his maternal grandfather: Nathaniel and then Isaac. The first daughter, after the maternal grandmother. the second daughter, after the paternal grandmother. Bethania and then Amy, but they reversed the order, father's mother, mother's mother.
Also the uncommon name of mother's brothers Mordica and namesake for their 3rd son Rev. Mordica Bishop.
