This is a special thanks to Tim and Tammie ❤ for their very generous sponsorship of this memorial. In honor of Sancy Shaw may many blessings come your way for your kind deeds.

Sancy Shaw, 38 sadly passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve 2018. She resided in Clark Colorado, a tiny village north of Steamboat Springs with her husband Brett and four children.

Sancy’s life was embodied by enthusiasm and joy. She never met a stranger she didn’t know. Sancy was a passionate mother, teacher, wife, sister, and instant friend to anyone she met. Her goal in Life was to be known by Jesus and to help others know him.Sancy

Shaw was born in WY and grew up in CO. She attended the University of Wyoming on a NCAA D1 soccer scholarship and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, emphasis in Biology, and a minor in Earth and Space Science. After graduating from UW, Sancy and her husband, Brett, moved back to the Yampa Valley where past generations of Sancy’s family have lived since 1960.

Sancy enjoyed teaching at North Routt Community Charter School in her home town. Teaching in various forms has always been a passion for Sancy. Whether it be coaching soccer or teaching snowboarding she balances laughter and freedom with structure. Delivering water collection protocol for the Elk river to a group of new scientists or guiding students through a STEM experiment, you can be certain that attention to detail and students understanding were top priorities to her.

Sancy believed students needed a place where they could be challenged, know that they are believed in, and feel safe enough to understand that we are all still a work in progress. She was honored and so excited to join the NRCCS Crew.

Outside of NRCCS you could find Sancy enjoying the blessings of life. Time spent with her family (husband Brett, sons Wyatt, Mason and Jaxon and daughter Charlee), camping, running trails, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, fishing, really...anything outdoors.

Sadly Sancy was a victim of a head on collision with a drunk driver. She was in the vehicle with her 6-year-old daughter, Charlee.Mrs Shaw was killed and her daughter was airlifted to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other car also died of injurys.

Her husband was very devastated losing his wife. They were a very close family. It was urged to warn others about driving and drinking by her husband.

May she rest in peace always be loved and remembered...~

A celebration of life for Sancy Shaw was held on January 11th at the Steamboat Grand. A reception followed at the Steamboat Christian Center.
