Ivy E. Bertrand, age 80, left this earth peacefully on Saturday, Dec 29, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tn. From her birth to her passing she loved and nurtured the people around her with compassion, willingness to lend a helping hand, and her never give up tenacity. She is survived by her children Debbie Smith (Terry) Joey and Fred Anthony Bertrand, David Watkins(Kim), Renee Graham(James Enoch) and 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren her brother Carey (Buddy) Adkins and sisters Freddie and Porky and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruby Mae Adkins; brother, Robert Lee Adkins, her loving companion of 30 plus years Jack Whitley and her recently deceased daughter Tammy Watkins. Ivy was a loving , caring and compassionate woman who put the needs and wants of others before her own. She spent her life as a caregiver to her daughter Tammy and enjoyed taking care of her eleven grandkids and Pooters over the years. She loved line dancing with Jack and enjoyed the occasional trip with friends to the casino. Ivy will be remembered for her strength, love and beautiful spirit by the many hearts and lives she touched as an Angel here on Earth. Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at two-thirty in the afternoon in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday for four o’clock until eight in the evening and from Noon until the service on Thursday at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
