Jeff Baker, age 78, a former pioneer citizen of Baxter County died at his home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on Thursday, May 21, 1936 and was buried at that place on Friday the 22nd. Mr. Baker was raised at Big Flat in the south part of this county. He and his three brothers, Asa, John, and Jay were business leaders in the county for many years conducting mercantile establishments at Big Flat and Mountain Home. His death marks the passing of the last of the four. He was a member of the Christian church. Several Children survive him, Mrs. Della McCabe, widow of the late Senator McCabe of this senatorial district who now live in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mrs. George Deck of the same city; Mrs John Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and four sons, P. Dexter, Garland, Grover, and Menard all of Okmulgee.
