Union resident 89 year old Mrs. Velma Lee Adkins Taylor, died at Laird Hospital on Sunday, March 12, 1995. Funeral services for her were held on Monday, March 13, at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Alford "Bill" Boykin officiated. Burial took place in the Golden Grove Cemetery.
Survivors of Mrs. Taylor include three daughters, Marguerite Harris, Decatur, Helonese Watkins of Little Rock, MS, and Mary Strauss of Knoxville, TN; one brother, Lois Adkins of Union; one sister, Tesla Smith of Suqualena; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
