Artie Earnestine Stamps Phipps Gipson, 81 of Huntsville went home to be with our Lord on January 1, 2019 at 6:20 am, she was born on November 5, 1937 to Earnest Eugene and Bessie Faye (Fritts) Stamps in Hindsville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Edgar L. Gipson, 2 grandsons, Michael Phipps and Matthew Maeur, 1 great grandson, Dakota Burgess, 1 great granddaughter, Brianna Phipps, her parents, Ernest and Bessie Stamps, 3 brothers, Luther, Elton and Jerry Dean and 1 sister, Anna Hofarth.
She is survived by 1 son, Garry D. Phipps of Springdale, Arkansas, 2 daughters and sons in law, Phillis C. and Drew Whitlow of Huntsville, Arkansas and Susan E. and Jimmie Butts of Kailua, Hawaii, 4 brothers, J.L., Alfred, Liga and Henry Stamps all of Springdale, Arkansas, 1 sister, Sue Carol Dozier of Springdale, Arkansas, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2pm at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale with Chaplain Chuck Bengston officiating.
