Sarah Evans was born March 11, 1826, in North Carolina, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Carver) Evans.

Sarah married David Brinson about 1853. David was born April 25, 1819, in Ripley County, Indiana, the son of Zebulon and Catherine (Keithley) Brinson. Had had been previously married to Margaret Layton Saylors (1814-1851) by whom he had five daughters and one son. Sarah and David had the following known children:

1. Tabitha "Ellen" (Brinson) Blair (1853-1929)
2. Jacob H. Brinson (1857-1872)
3. Martha "Alice" (Brinson) Holcomb 11859-1918
4. Charles E. Brinson (1863-1872)

Sarah died July 28, 1904, in Reno County, Kansas. David died July 11, 1919, in Nickerson, Reno County, Kansas.
