Charles M. "Tommy" Galloway, 65, of 64 Beverly Road, Asheville, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Galloway was born in Transylvania County and was a son of the late Charles E. and Annie Tomberlin Galloway. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Wayne Galloway, and a brother, Jim Ward.

He served in the US Army and he also was a Vietnam Veteran while with the US Air Force. Mr. Galloway worked at the VA Hospital at Oteen for more than 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Young Galloway; a daughter, Amber Inez Galloway and a step-daughter, Maegan Wright.

A private service is scheduled for Monday in the chapel at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
