Bruce Anthony Gilliam, 47, of Castroville, died of cancer on Saturday, August 17, 2002, at the Community Hospital.

He was born August 26, 1954, in Monterey. He was a plant and nursery attendant at Evergreen Nursery. He was a 1972 graduate of Seaside High School and received a certificate in Computer Applications with Hartnell College in 2000.

Membership: Hayes Methodist Chapel and the Salvation Army Services.

Survivors: Son, Maurice Gilliam of Las Vegas; mother, Elizabeth Gilliam of Castroville; brothers, Richards Woods of Castroville, Alfred Walker of South Carolina, Robert Gilliam of Salinas and Garland Stinson of Long Beach; sisters, Rosie Woods of Los Angeles, Mary Diaz of Colorado, Roberta Chaplin of Castroville and Henrietta Walton of Seaside; 13 nieces; 13 nephews; and several great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

Service: Was held Friday August 23, at the Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Ave., Seaside.
