Kathleen was the daughter of Daniel Joseph (1881-1946) and Florence Magdeline 'Maggie' Young (1885-1964) Maloney.

(NOTE FROM HER DAUGHTER: Her birth certificate shows: Florence Kathleen Maloney; her marriage application shows: Kathleen F Maloney; her death certificate shows: Kathleen Clark. She was never called Florence. On her tombstone: F Kathleen Clark.)

Her siblings: Margaret Elizabeth Maloney (1910-1998); John Daniel Maloney (1912-1912); Anna Josephine Radican (1913-1980); Robert William Maloney (1915-1915); James Daniel Maloney (1919-1998) and William John Maloney (1921-2014).

Kathleen attended Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Indiana.

She married on August 17, 1935 in Greenfield, Hancock Co, Indiana to Kester Owen Clark (1908-1975). They had one daughter, Charlene Joan Clark Harmon; one grandson, David 'Scott' Harmon; one great granddaughter, Jacqueline Simone Harmon.

About 1939 Kathleen, her husband and her daughter moved to 1019 S Joseph (between 1942 and 1946 renamed Mickley Av), Indianapolis, IN (listed on the 1940 census, dated May 20th, at that address). The Haltermans moved in next door Dec 1941: five girls and one boy (later two more girls were added).

Kathleen (about 1943) took the two of the girls (Beulah 'Inky' once and Mary once) and her daughter to town on the bus. They went to Kresge's (a dime store) to eat and sat on stools at the counter. She bought them small gifts: Inky - paper dolls and Mary a small baby doll. Her daughter always got the same gift as the girls.

Kathleen and her daughter moved in with her mother and sister, Margaret, at 1221 S Worth (new house) in October of 1950. Kathleen and Kes were divorced in June 1952.

Kathleen worked at L S Ayres Department Store in Indianapolis, Indiana from August 1947 (starting as a sales person in the bedding department and later transferring to the marking room) until December 1979.

She loved hybrid iris and had them planted around the house.

LIKE MY MOTHER

by Charlene Clark Harmon

They say I'm like my mother,
I've heard that all my life;
The way I walk or turn a phrase -
the way I hold my knife.

They say I look a lot like her,
my laugh reminds the, too;
They say I make them laugh
the way she used to do.

They say my voice rings the same,
and my eyes are just as blue;
And deeds of heart and soul
have so much of her there , too.

A clone of sorts, my mom and me,
from different worlds to be sure;
But I remember all too well
these things they say of her.

If in my life I leave behind
such moments to uncover
Then I'll say: "I thank God
that I am like my mother.
