James W. Meek 97, Green Valley, AZ, passed away June 29, 2006. He was a former resident of Indianapolis. He was born February 25, 1909 in Cicero, IN to L.L. and Clara (Collings) Meek. Survivors include daughter, Marcia (Gil) Berggrer of Green Valley, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Bryan (Donna Sue) Toll of Zephyr Hills, FL; and brother, Robert (Kate) Meek of Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, on March 20, 1989. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1927, and was a 1932 graduate of Purdue University. He was retired from Eli Lilly & Co. Jim was a former member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church, Sertoma Club of Greenwood, Franklin B.P.O.E. #1818, and Delta Upsilon. Additional memberships included the Red Coat of St. Francis and the American Philatelic Society. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Sunday, July 9, 4:00 p.m., at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. Calling will take place on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
